At University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. (UMEC-AZ), safety is a foundational component of our values. We’ve worked hard to establish a rigorous safety program that follows all relevant state and national standards, as well as industry best practices.

Our commitment to safety has helped us achieve outstanding safety performance year after year. In fact, we recently celebrated two incredible milestones: reaching 20 years and 16.1 million labor hours without a lost-time injury and surpassing one million labor hours since our last recordable incident.

As a further testament to the quality of our program, we’ve been recognized with a Gold Safety Award from Highwire. Highwire provides a thorough, objective, and consistent evaluation of safety performance, accounting for indicators like DART and EMR, as well as the implementation and maintenance of critical safety management systems.
