PIPING & PLUMBING SERVICES SCOPE OF WORK

UMEC (AZ) provided piping and commercial plumbing services, installing nearly 17,000 feet of pipe and more than 300 plumbing fixtures.

INDUSTRIAL FACILITY BACKGROUND

Phelps Dodge employs 17,500 people in 28 countries. With the recent acquisition of Cyprus Amax Mineral Company and implementation of an aggressive growth strategy, the company needed growing space.

MECHANICAL SYSTEMS SERVICES OBJECTIVES

To provide the mechanical systems for the client's 24-story, 517,000 square-foot building on Phoenix's original geographic center. Phelps Dodge will occupy the top six floors. The client will then lease nine floors to other tenants and one floor to retail shops and restaurants, while reserving eight floors for parking.

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION SOLUTIONS

To install a 2,500 gallon grease interceptor 40 feet below ground zero, crews pumped equipment from the ground level down through a series of sleeves and guides.
